Shorter Wait Times and More Seamless Treatment Through the Care Process

A diverse group of leaders within Granite Health have formalized specific recommendations for managing the way patients are cared for in the emergency department and directed through the care process. In order to help create a seamless patient experience, the group recommended rapid assessment and upfront sorting of incoming patients, designating bed coordinators for effective bed management, use of bridge orders, and team based rounding.

By implementing these recommendations, we anticipate shorter emergency department wait times and more seamless treatment through the care process which in turn helps reduce the cost of care in what has traditionally been the most expensive way to receive care.
